It sure looked like you girls had a great Christmas! I saw that your Nana and Papa got you Molly and Kit! Yippeee!! You got lots of really great gifts for Christmas from everyone in your family! You are two lucky little girls!
Hi Emma. I got your message. It's so hard to have a younger sibling. Believe me, I know, I have a younger brother! I sent your Mom your note because I wanted her to know you were upset. You and Allie really need to work these things out. From what I saw today, you two often have a hard time getting along because you don't compromise. That's a big word, isn't it? Talk to your parents about what it means to compromise. It's a word that you need to know - it will help you not just with Allie, but with your friends too. Next time you think something isn't fair because Allie gets to have something longer than you, tell her that's how you feel and see if you can compromise with her. If you can't, then maybe neither of you should have the toy you're fighting over, until you can come up with a compromise. But, Emma, whatever you do, don't think your parents love Allie more than you (she probably thinks they love YOU more than her)....your parents love both of you very much, not one more than the other.
Keep writing to me, especially whenever you need to talk about something. I'm always here for you and I'll try to help you however I can.

0 commentsChristmas Eve
I'm so glad Santa sent me to spend this December with you. I've such a great month here with both of you. You do so many exciting things during December: the church play, books, movies, cookies, plays, lights...so many things I'm not sure I can remember them all!
It's Christmas Eve. Are you excited? I'm so excited for both of you! I know you've been so good and I've reported that back to Santa, so hopefully you get the one thing you wished for (Molly and Kit) and even more! I know you like to read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve and when I looked through your books, I couldn't find a copy, so I got this one for you. Please snuggle with me one last time while you watch The Polar Express and while your Dad reads this story tonight. When Santa stops by to fill your stockings tonight, I'll be hopping on his sleigh to head back to the North Pole with him. I will miss you girls very much, but I'll be watching you all year from the North Pole and you never know, I might write to you every once in a while. If you're good girls, Santa will send me back to your house next December to stay with you again, so please be good because I really want to come back!
Even though I must go, please remember that I'm always there in your heart, if you miss me too much, Emma, you can write me a message....I've given your Mom clearance to be able to put a post on my blog while I'm in the North Pole, so you can write to me if you want to.
I love you both and will miss you, until I see you next December.
Love,
Noel

0 commentsOne more day
Well, only one more day and then I have to head back to the North Pole with Santa. I know you and Allie are going to spend the night with your Aunt Kari, Uncle David, and your cousins, Nancy and Laura. I hope you girls have a great time. I'm very afraid of dogs (they often try to eat me) so I'm going to stay here and get everything all ready for Christmas Eve. I need to make sure Santa has everything ready for you girls for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Love you,
Noel

1 commentsWhat a great day!
Wow, what a great day today!
Emma, you got to go play Mario with Brian. Allie got to have a play-date with Kent. Then, you both got to play with Laura and Nancy. And, as if that's not good enough, it just kept getting better.....
Your Grandma and Grandpa came over and you guys all went to go see lights. By the way, I loved the lights that spelled my name - that was awesome! And, then, to complete the evening, you all watched White Christmas together!
What a fabulous day. I can't wait for tomorrow.....COSI, and then the train display at the library...wow....sounds like fun!

0 commentsHYSTERICAL
Ok, so the snowball fight with Emma, Allie, and Kent was hysterical! I enjoyed watching you all play and have fun in the snow. I think Kent was on the best side of the snowball fight, though, since he couldn't get wet or be cold. Emma, you did such a good job with your sister today, I know Santa will be proud of you!
You guys did a great job decorating the sugar cookies today. I know Santa will look forward to eating one....and, Emma, don't worry about Brian, Santa will make sure to let Brian know that it would not be in his best interest to eat all the cookies before Santa arrives on Christmas Eve. Santa will remind Brian about the importance of sharing!
Emma, I hope you enjoy the two books your Mom bought for you today. I hope you remembered to say "thank you" to her because that was awfully nice of her to do that for you, especially with only 5 days left until Christmas.
I can't wait to see what all we do this week, now that you're home from school, Emma, and your Mom is off work.....I'm sure my last week here will be a great one!
Love,
Noel

1 commentsIt's beginning to look (and smell) alot like Christmas
Wow...the snow today....I am SO excited! I love snow! I hope we have snow here at your house all the way until Christmas! And then, as if it couldn't get any better already for a Christmasy day 'cause we already have the tree with all the wrapped presents underneath, and then the snow...but your Mom baking all those cookies....mmmmm.....it smells so good! Oh, I'm getting so excited for Christmas!
I've heard you practicing your reading for the Advent wreath at church tomorrow, Emma. You're going to do a great job reading the scripture!
Have fun making the cut-out cookies with your Dad. Make sure you put one of each cookie you've made on the plate for Santa on Christmas Eve...he always likes to try one of each.

1 commentsA week away...
Hi Emma and Allie!
Christmas is just a week away...and now since Emma is done with school and your Mom is done with school...fun times are ahead. Emma, before I get on to an important Christmas-time message I wanted to thank you for eating such a good dinner last night! Way to go! I am so proud of you!
Santa wanted me to fill you in on a little secret...he wanted me to tell you that he does not always bring the gifts you ask for at Christmas. Now, I know you already understand that you do not get everything you ask for at Christmas, but what I am talking about is different. Santa talks with Mom and Dad a lot during the year and around Christmas to make sure they know who is getting what presents. Santa understands that you have a lot of people who love you and want to buy you nice things so many times, he will let Moms and Dads, Nanas and Papas and Grandmas and Grandpas buy you special gifts. He does this because then he has more time and effort to help those children who may not have as much as you do. When you become a parent or grandparent you take on a very special role as on of Santa's many, many helpers.
On Christmas morning, don't be surprised if Santa has only brought you gifts that fit into your stockings. Because of all your "peeps" other things you may have asked Santa for will come from them. I did not want you to think Santa did not get your list or thought you were not good little girls. Sometimes our jobs are made easy by loving families...and yours is one of those families. Always remember how much you are loved by your family.
Well...tonight we watch The Santa Clause 2...the movie makers have really good imaginations about how Santa gets around and what is workshop looks like...but, only the elves and Santa truly know! Tee hee!
Can't wait to hear all about your concert, Emma! I am sure you did wonderful.
Love ya...

1 commentsChristmas is coming.....
Just a few more days until Christmas! After this week, it will be even more fun because your Mom will be home and I know she will have fun things planned for you to do every day - I can't wait. I had a really good time watching Miracle on 34th Street with you last night. Every time I watch that movie it reminds me of the true meaning of Christmas and how it is a time for us to show our faith and love to everyone. I'm so glad you believe in Santa and know that he is real, wasn't it great that Susan figured that out in the movie!?
I am sure that you girls understand the true meaning of Christmas but we can also have so much fun together celebrating the fun part of Christmas....the tree, the beautiful lights, the goodies and of course, the gifts.
I am so proud of how good you two are. I know that your mom and dad are very proud of you as well. The only thing I would like to ask is that you try to eat something a little healthier than dry cereal and fritos for dinner. Have some cheee or fruit...You need to eat good dinners so you can be healthy and strong! I want you to be healthy if I get to come back to your house again next year.
I really love sleeping in my special bed under your tree. It was so thoughtful of you to make the perfect place for me to rest. You are so busy at your house, that sometimes I need to take a break. When you aren't at home I may have to jump in my bed and take a quick nap so I will be ready for you to come home to watch more movies, play video games and just hang out with my favorite girls. I love spending time with your family....you are all so special. Your parents are so loving and fun and I can tell that you two are the most important thing in their lives.
You will never guess where I will be hiding next. You will have to look very hard to find me....I will be hiding among many very special things, high up in a very special Christmas place. Hope you can find me!
Have fun, be good, and I will be reporting to Santa again very soon. He will be so pleased to hear how good you have been! Thank you for letting me spend time with your family. I am having a blast!

0 commentsCAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? ONLY 10 MORE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!! YAAAAAHHHHHOOOOO!!!
I am so excited I might just burst! Christmas is just the coolest time of year! As you know I recently talked to Santa and he is so very proud of you both. Of course, I am proud of you too!
Now, an important reminder, as you may or may not already know…I need to head back to the North Pole after the Prep & Landing crews have arrived and Santa has made his special delivery. Don’t be sad! Really, don’t be! You need to remember that Christmas is a special time of year when you do things differently than you do the rest of the year. But…the “spirit” of Christmas can stay in your heart until the season comes around again. Soooo…you see by keeping the Christmas spirit in your heart, you will always have me there too. Before you know it I will be back with you hanging out, playing and having a great time. Remember, don’t be sad…it is just something that has to happen…it gets too warm here in Ohio for an elf and how would Santa get ready for next year if we didn’t report back to do all our other jobs!
Okay, since we have that covered and no one is sad we are going to have some Christmas fun. Soon we are going to drive around and look at lights and make Santa’s cookies and play your new video game (it is waaaayyy fun!) and enjoy the rest of this special time. I am having a hard time sleeping and not getting into trouble because I am so excited…ahhhhhhh….this is sooooooo much fun!!!! Tee hee…

0 commentsHalfway there
It's halfway to Christmas day! We've had so much fun since I got to your house. I got to see Emma sing her solo at church, Allie went to Madeline's Christmas play with Grandma and Grandpa, Emma went to The Nutcracker, we've watched a different Christmas movie every day, we've read lots of Christmas stories, we've gone to your friends' (Abigail and Walker) house and decorated cookies! So much fun and I'm sure there's more to come!
I went to report to Santa on how good you girls have been...you've been SO good and Santa is SO proud of you and what good care you're taking of me, that he sent back an early gift for you. I must confess, I tried it out and boy is it fun! I think I fell asleep playing it because I just couldn't stop playing, it was so much fun! I hope you like it as much as I do. This is a gift for the two of you, but you can share it with your Mom and Dad...I think they'd have fun playing too! I know they like to play with you :)
Love,
Noel

Emma, How was The Nutcracker with your Mom and Grandma this year? Did you like it? Were you scared when the mice came and tried to take that girl in front of you?
Allie, did you have fun playing with Grandpa and your Dad? I think your Grandpa had lots of fun playing with you!
Allie, you really should stop waking your Mom up during the night wanting something to drink. She's not getting enough sleep and that's making her grumpy, which is no fun during the holidays! So, please, try to let her get some rest!
I know you guys get to go to my friend Louie's house...he stays with Abigail and Walker Harr...I hope you have lots of fun decorating cookies and playing with your friends. Be sure to say "hi" to Louie for me!
Love, Noel

See if you can find me ...
I am not upstairs
I am not downstairs
I am not in the living room
I am not in the bathroom
I am not in the hallway
You have to open something with a handle to find me
Allie won't be able to reach me by herself, I'm up too high
It's VERY cold where I am...

0 commentsHi
So, you watched Prep & Landing last night. I'm so glad I got to watch it with you, although it did make me miss my friends back at the North Pole a little. Those Prep and Landing guys are really good at what they do! All those years of specialized training to help Santa land his sleigh safely on roof tops! They also get to use all the coolest gadgets (your Dad would like that) in the world! Even though I miss all my elf friends, I'm having so much fun being here with you girls! I think you are great!
I have been meaning to ask you…what are your favorite things about Christmas? Since I have been here, I have seen you do lots of things to celebrate the season. There are musicals at church, plays, movies books and cooking. You really do a great job celebrating Christmas. Oh, speaking of cooking, I think you need to talk to your Mom about doing more holiday baking, I keep eating the cookies and Cheerios treats!!! What are your favorite Christmas treats?
Of course being an elf I like a lot of things about Christmas. My absolute favorite thing about Christmas is all the pretty lights on the Christmas trees and houses. I think it would be fun to ask your Mom and Dad to take us all out for a drive and see what lights we can find, what do you think?
You are almost done at school and I cannot wait to see you! Looking forward to playing again tonight!
Love

2 commentsHO HO HO!
Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas Emma and Allie!
I asked Noel to let me write on her blog to send you a quick note. Noel and I talked via the SSP (Secure Santa Phone) last night and had a great talk about the two of you. WOW! You both have been taking such great care of Noel. You are playing with her, loving her, watching Christmas movies with her and including her in your special time reading Christmas stories every night. I am so proud of both of you for taking such great care of my little friend.
In a little over two weeks I will be making my special flight around the world visiting all the good little boys and girls. I just want you to know that you both are on the good list and hopefully you will do everything you can to stay on the good list! I am pretty confident that you will do just fine! ;-)
I checked in with the Head of Gifts (HoG for short!) elf at the North Pole and it seems that his workers have been working very hard on some special gifts that have your names on them. If you keep behaving I think you will have a truly wonderful Christmas!
Well, I must get going. I have to check in with the other House and School elves across the world and see how they are doing. According to my Santa-berry (it is like a blackberry but this one is made especially for me! Ho Ho!) I have a meeting coming up with Holly soon! I hope her reports are as good as Noel’s! You know, technology is a great thing…before email, blogs and of course the Santa-berry I had to write all these notes by hand and visit every single elf personally…it sure made getting ready for Christmas a challenge!
Emma and Allie, I wish for you nothing but the best this Christmas Season. I hope you enjoy this special time of year, I know I do! ;-)

Hey Emma -
I will watch "Home Alone" when you are at school tomorrow. It is a great movie and I have seen it many times. I really wanted to go with you to Nana & Papa's house but I realized I have a very important HERS Conference Call with Santa tonight. HERS means House Elf Reporting System. All the house elves have to call in and give Santa a report on their special friend. He wants an update on how you and Allie are doing so we are going to talk about it. Don't worry though, I have great things to tell him about both of you.
We will get back together when you come home from school and Allie comes home from Nana & Papa's tomorrow. We will have lots of fun.
By the way...I will make sure I find a great hiding spot for tomorrow! Tee hee!
Love you both,
Noel

1 commentsWOW!
Emma - you are a totally awesome singer! I can't believe you got up in front of all those people and did such a good job singing your solo! I was so impressed with your bravery! You told me that you were nervous but it did not show one bit! I called Santa and told him how great you were and he said he was very proud of you as well. It must feel good to have such a great director in Mrs. Beske, great choir friends who support you and all those people who were watching you love and support you. WOW! WOW! WOW! Oh, by the way, your flowers were beautiful!!!
Allie - your mommy sent me pictures of the special day you had with your Grandma and Grandpa! You looked so grown up in your dress and pretty coat. What a big girl to go to a play with Grandma and Grandpa all by yourself! You are such a lucky girl to have such special grandparents, both Grandma and Grandpa and Nana and Papa.
I am tired out today! I was up early to get ready to go to church this morning. Then when we got home we played and made cookies and watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Whew, you guys tire me out! I went to bed kind of early but then I got up to have a little snack and write you this note. Don't worry, I asked your Mom and Dad first so they would not get upset with me. They are pretty nice, especially letting me stay in your house with you two.
I know you'll be sleeping over at your Nana and Papa's house Monday night, but don't worry about me. After such a busy weekend, it will be good for me to have a quiet night at your house. I'm sure your Mom and Dad will take good care of me when they get home from their meetings. Make sure you check my blog while you're gone, I might have some new posts. I will be especially excited to see you when you get home on Tuesday! I'll be well rested and ready to play, watch the daily movie, and hear the nightly stories. Have fun at Nana and Papa's!
I love you both very much,
Noel

1 commentsSo excited.....
Emma,
I am so excited to hear the Children's Choir Christmas production Sunday morning! I know you're a little nervous about your solo, and I want to remind you what you told me....with your family, your friends (including me) and God there with you....you will do great! I know how well you can sing and I know you will do a fantastic job! Your Mom and Dad are so proud of you for having a solo....just remember what your Mom said to you after your shower tonight, that no matter what, they are proud of you for going up to the microphone and singing! I heard that your Grandma is incredibly proud of you for having a solo because she remembers when you first started in Cherub Choir, you said you wouldn't even sing with the choir in front of the church...and now, three years later, you're singing a solo! I'm proud of you too - you are such a brave and confident girl! I just can't wait for morning to come so I can go to church with your family and hear you sing! Break a leg, Emma (that's sho-biz talk for "good luck").
Love,
Noel

Hi there girls!
We are just having the BEST time this Christmas season!!! You have one rockin' cool house, especially all the neat places to hang out and make you find me! Tee hee! It was hard work getting on top of the blinds yesterday and on the ceiling fan this morning but I did it. It is so much fun watching you both look for me!
I am a little lonely this afternoon. Emma you went to play with your friend, which is great because having friends is so awesome! Allie, you got to go with your Grandma and Grandpa to see the Madeline's Christmas play! You are both lucky and special little girls. It makes me smile watching you both get to do such neat things. So it is quiet in your house...your dad really likes this football stuff, eh? Your mom...wow, she is always doing something, I tried a few times to slow her down but I just couldn't. Oh well, moms are like that, what would we ever do without them...they are SUPER SPECIAL!
I bet you are wondering what my reports to Santa have been like. Well, so far I have reported that you are both behaving very well and are taking great care of me. Emma, I shared with Santa your concerns about ALWAYS having to be good when you are frustrated with Allie. Santa and I both understand that being a big sister can be a tough job but you are doing so well. Hang in there and keep doing your best!
Allie, I can't wait to hear all about your play. I surely hope you had a wonderful time. Please spend some time with me letting me know what your big theater experience was like with your grandparents. Very cool.
Oh, before I sign off for the day I wanted to make sure to tell Emma that Santa sends his best wishes for your big solo in the church Christmas play tomorrow. He knows you will be absolutely spectacular! Santa also called your mom and dad and told them that he has given me special permission to go to church with them and hide in a special place. I will get to see you sing and you will have even more support to do your very best knowing I am right there with you! Santa really is a wonderful guy!
Well, I am off to a new hiding spot...tee hee...find me if you can...
Love ya,
Noel

2 commentsI had a GREAT night!!!!!
WOW! What a night I had girls! Your house is the best! Not only were you two super nice to me, watched movies with me, played with me but you made a bed for me and let me sleep in my favorite spot...under a Christmas tree! Thank you sooo much!
So I was really excited when I went to bed last night to wake up and see what fun I would have today. I have already seen some really cool looking toys that I think I will play with while you both are gone during the day. Oh, and since I was a little late arriving, I did catch up on the first couple of movies you watched so I would not miss anything. You watched a very funny movie about my friend Buddy the Elf. Ha ha, he just makes my belly hurt from laughing at his silliness.
It looks like tonight we will have lots of fun...did I hear right, I get to meet your Grandma and Grandpa? I am very excited!
Oh, I should tell you, elves are a silly little bunch and we like to play games. One of our favorite games is hide and seek! So there will be times when you wake up or come home that I will not be where you left me. Sometime I will be in the open (like this morning, ha ha, I had a good hiding place) and other times I may be behind close doors. So just make sure you look real good for me! Tee hee!
Have a great day and I look forward to seeing you later.
Love,
Noel

3 commentsA message from Noel's boss - SANTA
HO HO HO!
I see you girls have taken quite a liking to my little friend, Noel. She is surely one of the best elves I have ever had. Please take good care of her while she stays with you the month of December. If you are not good to her, well, I am just not sure I could send her back. But I know you both very well and I know you love to take care of things...even elves! So here are my rules for Noel -
1. You have to love Noel with all of your heart.
2. You have to protect Noel and make sure she does not get hurt.
3. You need to make sure you hug and play with Noel everyday.
4. You need to make sure Noel stays healthy and does not get sick in the cold weather.
5. Most importantly, you need to listen to what Noel says in her notes. Remember, Noel works for me and when she is with you her rules are my rules!
Okay, now Emma, your dad called me a little while ago and asked about touching elves and them losing their powers. I understand one of my helpers, Holly, is visiting your school. She is super, isn't she? School elves and House elves are different, you see. Because of all the boys and girls, the School elves, like Holly, must not be touched or they can lose the power to move from class to class. However, House elves are much different. Since they live in your home they are a part of your family and you must love them and care for them as if they were your mom, dad, brother or sister. House elves should get lots of attention and be played with a lot.
So, I expect both Emma and Allie to play with and share Noel all of December. Emma, you know how to set a good example for your little sister...I know it is hard but you do a great job.
It was great to see you both visiting my helper with your cousins at Tuttle Mall. Nice picture.
Have a great Christmas season and I hope to visit your house in a few weeks. Give Noel a hug and kiss for me.
Love,
Santa
P.S. And remember, I am always watching!!!!
Hi Emma and Allie!
My name is Noel the Elf. When Santa told me that I would be living with you for the month of December, I became so excited. (Don't tell anyone, but I love blond hair the best - both curly and straight!) I was sad when something delayed my travels, though You see...I am the special caregiver for Santa's reindeer, Dasher, and he suddenly became sick with the sniffles. We all know it is very important that he is in tip-top shape for his special journey on Christmas Eve, so I stayed at the North Pole for a few days until he felt better. I spent alot of time making sure his carrots were just like he likes him. Please forgive me for not arriving on December 1.
My job is a special one this month. Not only do I get to hang around your house and see what your family does during the holidays (I am super excited about the nightly Christmas books and movies, by the way...I'll bet you read stories and watch movies that I have yet to hear and see. I look forward to listening and watching with you), but I also get help remind you about making good choices this Christmas season. Remember, Santa keeps a list with the names of good boys and girls, and I want to help you make sure that your names are right on top!! So...throughout my stay, make sure you are remembering what Christmas is all about - and make sure you are doing the right thing...even when you think no one is watching. ;)
And one more thing...make sure you keep an eye out for me each day here in your home. I'll be sure and leave you a note (check the blog!)...you be sure and find my new "hiding" spot each day! Your home is so warm and cozy...there are a TON of spots for me to settle in.
I hope you had a good day at school, Emma. And Allie, I hope your day with Nana was good, too. And I hope you enjoy your dry erase board and markers. You know...I like notes too...so guys could write one to me every now and then, if you want to.
What book are we reading tonight? What movie are we going to watch? Do you think your Mom and Dad would let us have a treat while we watch...if we ask nicely?
Bye girls!
